[ARCHIVED] Unlawful Use Of A Weapon (handgun), Menacing-1

On March 20 at 4:15 p.m., police received information that a 59-year-old black male victim was walking by an apartment building in the area of 30th Avenue and Willamette Street and there was a white male outside, later identified as Spencer E. Bryson, age 25. Bryson confronted the victim and called him a racial slur. The victim left the area and was walking home a short time later when Bryson is reported to have pulled up in his vehicle and gotten out and confronted the victim again. This time Bryson pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at the victim. The victim ran to his apartment and called 911. Officers responded, arrested Bryson for Unlawful Use of a Weapon-Aggravated Assault, and seized the firearm. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charge.
