Cleaner Parking Garages Coming this July!

Everyone needs a shower after more than 40 years—even a parking garage. This month, the Parcade, Pearl, and Overpark garages will complete their first full cleanings since construction.

While each garage is being washed, permit-holders will be provided alternative locations to park (listed below), and during the Overpark cleaning, a free, ADA-accessible shuttle service will provide travel to and from select alternative parking locations.

The cleaning is part of a long-term plan to increase the lifespan of the garage while maintaining a safe and inviting parking environment. Future improvements include restriping the parking garage spaces and travel lanes, as well as a retrofit with LED lights. The upgraded lighting will provide a brighter, safer, more energy-efficient parking experience.

Along with structural maintenance and environmental upgrades, the City’s garages will be included in the Downtown Wayfinding Plan to improve future signage and visual enhancements. Proposed upgrades include color-coding parking deck floors as well as the implementation of improved wayfinding signage within and beyond the garages.
