Felon In Possession Restricted Weapon – Case 1714081

Police responded to the location regarding a male subject who was trespassing at the business and urinating on the building. When police arrived, the officer contacted the described subject, Justin Scott Crump, age 28, of Eugene, and found him in possession of illegal drugs and a bladed object. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Possession of Heroin, Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Felon In Possession of a Restricted Weapon.

Burglary 1 – Case 1714033

Police responded to the area regarding a burglary at a residence and located the described suspect walking south on Donald Street near E. 34th Place. Police received information that the suspect, Marco Quinte Johnson, age 25, of Eugene, was observed inside the location after a door to the residence was found left open. Police contacted Johnson and found him in possession of several items from the residence and arrested him for Burglary in the First Degree and transported him to the Lane County Jail.

The average number of calls for service over the last seven days is 276 and the average number of arrests over the last seven days is 29. The number of calls for service on this day last year was 232, and the number of arrests was 23. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service received on August 21 is 241, and the average number of arrests, 29. 


Last week (Sunday, August 13 – Saturday August 19) EPD responded to 1,925 calls for service and made 207 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last four weeks is 2,063 with 200 arrests. The number of calls for service during the same week last year was 1,967 with 194 arrests. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service for this period was 1,734 and there were 228 arrests.

Menacing/Burglary 2/Criminal Mischief 2 – Case 1714018

Police responded to Paintball Palace regarding a burglary in progress and received information of a male subject who threatened an employee while pointing a paintball gun at the employee, and subsequently left the location with several items. Police located and contacted the described subject, Benjamin Joseph Martinez, age 36, of Eugene, who was across the street from the business, and found him in possession of the items that were taken from the business. Responding officers also observed a broken window at the business and following contact with Martinez, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Burglary in the Second Degree, Menacing, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree and Theft in the Second Degree.

Criminal Mischief 2 – Case 1713972

Police responded to the area regarding a subject who was pulling flowers from a City planter. Police contacted the subject, Nathan Neil Murphy, age 29, of Springfield, and found the flowers in a nearby trash can and cited Murphy in lieu of custody for Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.

DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1713961

A police officer on patrol observed a 2005 Ford F150 traveling in the wrong direction eastbound on W. 11th Avenue at a high rate of speed. The officer contacted the driver of the vehicle, Koby Dylan Chadwick, age 19, of Springfield, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII and Reckless Driving.

DUII/Reckless Driving/Driving While Suspended – Case 1713958

Police responded to a crash involving two vehicles and observed both vehicles with significant damage. Police contacted the drivers of the involved vehicles and received information that a Volkswagen Jetta was traveling south on Mill Street, turning eastbound on Broadway though a green light when it collided with a Ford Explorer that had entered the intersection on a red light. After further investigation, the driver of the Explorer, Tanner David Alford, age 26, of Coos Bay, was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for DUII, Driving While Suspended and Reckless Driving. He was also cited for Driving Uninsured and Failure to Obey Traffic Control Device.

DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1713914

A police officer patrolling the area observed a black 2004 Chevy Impala traveling at a high rate of speed as it turned west onto Cal Young from Oakway Road, and heard the tires squealing. The officer contacted the driver of the vehicle, John Douglas Jonescraft, age 33, of Eugene, and observed a passenger in the vehicle. After further investigation, he was arrested for DUII, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering, and he was also cited for Driving Uninsured.

 


On August 16, EPD responded to 263 calls for service and made 35 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last seven days is 278 and the average number of arrests over the last seven days is 25. The number of calls for service on this day last year was 262, and the number of arrests was 28. DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1713741

A police officer on patrol in the area when the officer observed a red Toyota Camry traveling north on Chambers Street without the headlights off. The officer conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle and contacted the driver, Theo Gerard Sweeting, age 24, of Eugene, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.


08/13/17 02:00, 3700 BLOCK OF W 11TH

Theft 1 (Bicycle) – Case 1713552

Police received information of a bike that was reported stolen and posted for sale online. Officers contacted the phone number that was posted online with the ad and arranged to meet Daniel Lee Blair, age 32, of Eugene, in the area of Franklin and Villard Street. Police contacted Blair on August 16, recovered the stolen bike, and arrested him for two counts of Theft in the First Degree. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Menacing – Case 1713736

Police responded to the parking lot at the location regarding a menacing and received information that a male subject, who was in a white truck with a large white canopy, was in a verbal dispute with a teenager that escalated when the man pointed a gun at the victim. Police located the truck at the nearby AM/PM and contacted the male subject, Leon Wallace Atkins, age 56, of Eugene, who was found to be in possession of the described replica hand gun. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Menacing.

DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1713734

Police responded to the intersection for a two vehicle crash and observed a grey 2002 Toyota 4Runner with damage to the rear bumper and a grey 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, directly behind it with significant damage to the front passenger side of the bumper. Police contacted the drivers of the involved vehicles and after further investigation, arrested the driver of the Crown Victoria, Todd Michael McNally, age 39, of Eugene, for DUII and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Lane County Jail and also cited for Driving Uninsured.

Robbery 3 – Car Jacking – Case 1713730

Police responded to the area to locate a robbery suspect following information that a male subject attempted to pull a male out of his GMC pickup and take his vehicle. Police located the suspect, Jorge Luis Cerdaizucar, age 19, of Eugene, who was in the area of Maxwell Road and the Northwest Expressway Overpass, and contacted him regarding the incident. Police received information that Cerdaizucar had ran in front of the victim’s vehicle, forcing him to stop, opened the driver’s door and struggled to pull the victim from the vehicle. The victim was eventually able to push Cerdaizucar away and drive forward. Following contact with Cerdaizucar, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Robbery in the Third Degree and Attempted Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle.

Interfering Public Transport/Disorderly Conduct – Case 1713722

Police responded to the northeast side of LTD regarding a male subject who was observed yelling at an employee. Police received information that the employee contacted the subject, Antonio Gabriel Ortiz, age 29, of Eugene, who was initially unresponsive on an LTD bus, and subsequently became aggressive toward the employee. Police contacted Ortiz and he was observed pushing an employee. He was eventually arrested for Interfering Public Transport and Disorderly Conduct


On August 14, EPD responded to 282 calls for service and made 17 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last seven days is 287 and the average number of arrests over the last seven days is 24. The number of calls for service on this day last year was 246, and the number of arrests was 20. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service received on August 14 is 255, and the average number of arrests, 37. 


Last week (Sunday, August 6 – Saturday August 12) EPD responded to 2,049 calls for service and made 168 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last four weeks is 2,067 with 211 arrests. The number of calls for service during the same week last year was 1,892 with 229 arrests. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service for this period was 1,754 and there were 237 arrests.

Theft 2/Carry Concealed – Case 1713597

Police were in the area of South Eugene High School when an officer observed a male subject take a bike from the cage on the northwest corner of the school after manipulating the lock. The subject, Ethan James Purkey, age 25, of Eugene, was contacted by the officer and arrested for Theft in the Second Degree and Carry Concealed Weapon (knife).

Criminal Mischief 2/Criminal Trespass 2 - Case 1713559

Police responded to Sidelines Bar regarding a disorderly female subject who punched a candy machine, threw a blunt object at the door, and threw a beverage that landed on the floor, causing damage to each of the items at the business. The subject, Megan Joe Landig, age 37, of Eugene, refused to leave the location and was contacted by police. She was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree.

Possession Stolen Vehicle/Warrants – Case 1713554

Police responded to the location to conduct a welfare check of a male subject sitting in a red 1998 Ford Mustang and found that the vehicle had been reported stolen. Police contacted the subject, Robert Victor Marshall, age 54, and arrested him for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Possession Stolen Vehicle and three warrants. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.


On August 10, EPD responded to 277 calls for service and made 27 arrests. DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1713410

Police conducting traffic enforcement in the area of Coburg Road and Harlow Road observed a truck traveling northbound on Coburg at a high rate of speed, and conducted a traffic stop of the vehicle. The police officer contacted the driver of the black 2009 Toyota Tacoma, Eugene Justin Dupre, age 27, of Harrisburg, and after further investigation, arrested and transported him to the Lane County Jail for DUII, Reckless Driving and Driving While Suspended.

Disorderly Conduct – 1713404

Police responded to the area regarding a disorderly male who was walking in traffic and yelling. The officer contacted the described subject Eugene Donald Breeden, age 58, who lives at the location, and observed him yelling and behaving aggressively. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Criminal Mischief 2/DUII/Harassment/Criminal Trespass 2/Reckless Driving – Case 1713347

Police responded to a residence regarding a dispute with a possible DUII driver, and officers observed the involved female subject sitting in the roadway in front of the residence. Police had responded to the location earlier and were unable to locate the subject after receiving information that she was told to leave following her disorderly and combative behavior. When she returned to the residence, the suspect, Saleena Faun Watson, age 25, of Eugene, was again observed behaving aggressively toward the occupants of the residence, who are known to her, and damaged items in the front porch area of the residence. Police contacted Watson, and after further investigation, arrested her for DUII, Reckless Driving, two counts of Harassment, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. She was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1713309

Police responded to the area regarding a male subject who was running in traffic and causing a disruption to motorists who were forced to stop to avoid hitting him. A police officer located the subject, Todd Allen McGuire, age 54, of Eugene, and contacted him after observing the disorderly behavior. He was arrested for disorderly conduct and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Burglary 1 – Case 1713288

Police responded to a reported burglary at a residence on W. 12th Avenue that had just occurred and received information that a man and woman were observed leaving the location in a beige sedan after exiting the residence. Police located the involved Mercury Sable at a residence on the 1200 block of Alfaretta Drive and contacted the suspects, Emily Kay Hahn, age 41, of Eugene, and Nicholas Carl Norene, age 38, of Eugene, and received information that the victim was known to the suspects. Both Hahn and Norene were arrested for Burglary in the First Degree and transported to the Lane County Jail.


On August 8, EPD responded to 331 calls for service and made 18 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last seven days is 304 and the average number of arrests over the last seven days is 29. The number of calls for service on this day last year was 274, and the number of arrests was 21. Interfering Public Transport/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1713258

Police responded to the LTD station regarding a person who had been previously trespassed from the location and was physically combative with employees. Police contacted the suspect, Jeffery Patterson Cach, age 49, at the location, and arrested him for Interfering Public Transport and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Resisting Arrest/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1713244

Police responded to a trespasser at the business who was contacted by police officers after she refused to leave. The subject Amber Marie Neher, age 32, of Eugene, was arrested for Resisting Arrest and Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree. During the arrest, Neher struggled with officers and attempted to pull away. She was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Unlawful Entry Motor Vehicle/Possession of Methamphetamine – Case 1713212

Police responded to the parking lot at the location regarding a male subject who had entered a vehicle without permission. When police arrived, officers observed the described subject, Kyle Alan Lowry, age 37, running from the location and stopped him in the area of Oak Street and W. 11th Avenue. During contact with Lowry, the officer observed several items on the ground that had been taken from the vehicle and arrested Lowry for Unlawful Entry of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of Methamphetamine and two warrants. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.


On August 7, EPD responded to 307 calls for service and made 15 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last seven days is 305 and the average number of arrests over the last seven days is 30. The number of calls for service on this day last year was 238, and the number of arrests was 26. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service received on August 7 is 256, and the average number of arrests, 39.

Criminal Mischief 3 – Case 1713205

Police responded to the area regarding a male subject who was observed banging on doors and attempting to climb up the side of a house, and was detained by a resident after the subject ran through his home and broke a wooden fence and gate on the side of the home. The subject, Zachary Oron Inlow, age 22, of Eugene, was contacted by police and transported to the hospital by medics for evaluation. He was cited in lieu of custody for Criminal Mischief in the Third Degree.

Carry Concealed Weapon/Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1713197

Police responded to the LTD station regarding a male subject who had been walking into traffic and yelling at people. The described subject, Richard A Rudolph Jr., age 38, Cottage Grove, was observed yelling in an area marked with a No Trespassing sign, and was contacted by police. During contact with Rudolph, police located a handgun on his person. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree and Carry Concealed Weapon.

Criminal Mischief 2/Warrants – Case 1713169

Police responded to the University of Oregon building at the location regarding a disorderly subject who was kicking and punching at the store front windows, and causing a disturbance to people at the location. A police officer located the described subject, Jack Henry Davidson, age 20, of Eugene, outside the Buy 2 Market and contacted him regarding the incident. Police also observed damage to a storage container at the location and received information that Davidson had kicked the door to the container, causing dents. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree and three warrants.

Unlawful Use of a Weapon/Menacing/Disorderly Conduct 2 – Case 1713166

Police responded to the location regarding a disorderly subject who was escorted from the business after displaying aggressive behavior toward other patrons. Police received information that once outside, the subject, John Wesley Lange, age 42, of Eugene, subsequently displayed a knife and threatened employees. Lange was located by police at the Dari Mart convenience store near Royal Avenue and contacted regarding the incident. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Menacing and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.


On August 6, EPD responded to 282 calls for service and made 12 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last seven days is 306 and the average number of arrests over the last seven days is 31. The number of calls for service on this day last year was 258, and the number of arrests was 31. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service received on August 6 is 239, and the average number of arrests, 37. 

 

Last week (Sunday, July 30 – Saturday August 5) EPD responded to 2,149 calls for service and made 16 arrests. The average number of calls for service over the last four weeks is 2,052 with 212 arrests. The number of calls for service during the same week last year was 1,801 with 209 arrests. Over the last three years, the average number of calls for service for this period was 1,808 and there were 211 arrests.


08/07/17 00:28, 648 W 5TH AVE

Menacing, Possession Methamphetamine, Interfere with Peace Officer – Case 1713153

Officers were dispatched to report of an armed dispute under the Ferry Street Bridge on E. 2nd Avenue. A man was reported to have pulled a gun from his waistband and threatened a 19-year-old man. The suspect was identified as Rafael Fernandez, age 26. He had left and gone into Skinner Butte Park. While officers were searching at the park, they were approached by a 19-year-old male and a 20-year-old male who reported Fernandez had threatened them with a handgun. There was a thorough search with K9 assistance, but Fernandez was not located. Later, there was report of a suspicious male matching Fernandez’s description in the 300 block of W. 4th Avenue. An officer located Fernandez, who ran from the officer. Fernandez was found with the help of a Springfield Police K9. He was located hiding in some bushes near the 600 block of W. 5th Avenue. Fernandez was in possession of meth and charged with three counts of Menacing, Possession of Methamphetamine, and Interfering with a Peace Officer. Officers were unable to locate the handgun.


08/06/17 03:16, Eugene Area Apartment

Non-Criminal Hold – Case 1713107

A man, age 47, called police to report a dispute or burglary. He reported to dispatch that intruders were trying to get into his apartment through the windows and he had armed himself with a handgun and was yelling about killing the intruders. Officers were dispatched and did not find any intruders. Through dispatch, they were able to have the man put the gun down and come outside. He initially refused, but finally came out. When the call was completed and the firearm secured, two officers stayed nearby and within a few minutes, the man called 911 to report the same situation. Officers contacted him and then left. Within 15 minutes, the man called 911 two or three more times to report the same issues. The officers asked for CAHOOTS assistance and the man was taken to the hospital on a non-criminal hold for treatment.

DUII, Careless Driving, Reckless Driving – Case 1713101

A vehicle was reported to have failed to maintain its lane and almost hit a pedestrian crossing the street. An officer responded and observed the involved vehicle just about hit a tree. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver, Travis Lee Jensen, age 40, of Eugene. After an investigation, Jensen was charged with DUII, Reckless Driving and Careless Driving.


08/06/17 01:40, BROADWAY/WILLAMETTE ST

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1713106

Officers working patrol downtown were informed of a fight in progress near Willamette and W. Broadway. They responded and were flagged down near Starbucks. There was a group of people walking north on Willamette Street and it appeared two men Tony Lee David, age 26, of Springfield, and Martin Reyes, age 35, of Eugene, had been fighting and were about to re-engage. An officer activated his lights and the group started to disperse. He told David to stop, but he was walking away and continued walking toward the other man, Reyes. David eventually stopped and turned toward the officer and after not following directions, he complied. While the officer was speaking with David, Reyes started talking and David stood back up and turned toward Reyes. Since they were not complying and the officer was the sole officer on scene, he handcuffed Reyes. After an investigation, it was determined that the fight had been over remarks Reyes made about David’s girlfriend as they walked by Reyes. Both were charged with Disorderly Conduct.


08/06/17 12:38, 509 E 13TH AVE

Disorderly Conduct, Warrant – Case 1713132

An officer was sent to Occupy Medical regarding a man who was waving a knife around and alarming people in the area. When the officer arrived, he saw the man, Charles Russell Murray, age 55, on the sidewalk and told him to get on the ground. Initially he refused, but then complied. An Occupy Medical staff member assisted to calm Murray and he was taken into custody without incident. After an investigation, Murray was found to have a warrant. He was also found to have waved a knife around, and thrown a water bottle at one person, and also stuck his hand in soup that was intended to be a meal for clients. During transport to jail, Murray kicked the seats in the patrol car, and unlatched his seatbelt. Once at Jail, Murray began to yell and swear at the officer. Jail deputies were able to successfully get Murray from the patrol vehicle without using force.

Theft 2 – Case 1710348

On June 24, an officer was sent to Quackers Bar regarding a possible theft. A suspect walked behind the bar, opened the till and ran out of the bar. Two bystanders chased the suspect to the laundry mat, but she was able to get away, however not before one of them confronted the suspect and told her the police were coming. The suspect, Crystal Nichole Johnson, age 29, left at that time, but was found and charged with Theft 2 on August 6, at 7:30 a.m.


08/06/17 00:55, 399 S GARDEN WAY/MARTIN LUTHER KING

DUII, Minor in Possession of Liquor, Reckless Driving, Driving While Suspended. 

An officer was dispatched to report of a white sedan driving down the street with a blown front tire after hitting a median. The sedan’s wheel was gouging the concrete at South Garden Way and Martin Luther King, The officer found the marks in the concrete and followed them. The officer located the sedan without a driver. A bystander reported the driver ran across the street near Water and E Street. The driver, Christopher Ryan Carson, age 19, of Springfield, was located at a nearby residence. After an investigation, it was found Carson was charged with DUII, Minor in Possession of Liquor, Reckless Driving and Driving While Suspended.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1713088

Police responded to the area following several calls of a female subject who was throwing glass bottles toward passing vehicles, yelling profanities and behaving aggressively toward people in the area. A police officer contacted the described subject, Camille Leonora Bayer, age 25, of Eugene, at the location, and arrested her for Disorderly Conduct. She was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Public Indecency – Cases 1713063/1713064

Police responded to multiple calls regarding a male subject who had exposed himself in two separate incidents to female victims who were in the area. Police located the described male subject, Hobson Matthew Mason, age 37, of Eugene, who was at the Buy2 Market, and contacted him regarding the incidents. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for two counts of Public Indecency-Felony.

Private Indecency/Delivery of Meth – Case 1713060

Police responded to the Original Pancake House regarding a male subject in the vacant lot across the street who had exposed himself to the customers and employees at the restaurant. Police contacted the subject, Jeremy John Chamblee, age 41, of Eugene, who was at the described location of the incident and found him in possession of illegal drugs. Interfering With Police Officer/Warrant – Case 1713040

A police officer on patrol observed a male subject riding a bike south on River Road near the Northwest Expressway onramp without proper lighting and contacted the subject, Andrew Joshua Berry, age 22, of Springfield, who refused to stop. The officer eventually caught up to Berry and arrested him for Interfering With a Police Officer and two warrants. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

DUII/Reckless Driving – Case 1713037

A police officer in the area conducted a traffic stop of a silver Mitsubishi Montero after it was observed making an improper turn onto River Road, and subsequently crossed over the solid white fog line and into the bike lane, before swerving back into its lane of travel and over the solid yellow line. The officer contacted the driver, Chad Mark Wells, age 35, of Drain, and after further investigation, arrested him and transported him to the Lane County Jail for DUII and Reckless Driving.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1712987

Police responded to the Ferry Street Bridge regarding several calls for a disorderly subject who was impeding traffic in the northbound lanes. Police located the described subject, Larry Ray Goodell, age 44, lying in the northbound bicycle lane of traffic and contacted him regarding the behavior. He was arrested for Disorderly Conduct and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct/Interfering With Police – Case 1712984

Police responded to the parking lot behind Horsehead Tavern regarding a male subject who was swinging a large stick at patrons, and located the described subject at the location, Jordan Scott Gribi, age 29, of Eugene. Police contacted Gribi, and he refused to follow direction from the officer and walked away from the officer. He was eventually arrested for Disorderly Conduct and Interfering With Police.

Assault Public Safety Officer – Case 1712975

Police responded to a residence regarding a dispute and found that one of the involved subjects, Angela Joy Etter, age 39, of Eugene, had a warrant for arrest. During contact with Etter, she refused to follow direction from the officer, resisted arrest, and assaulted the officer with her fingernails. She was eventually arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on two warrants, Resisting Arrest, Assault on a Public Safety Officer and Interfering With a Peace Officer.

DUII/Minor in Possession of Liquor/Reckless Driving – Case 1712918

Police responded to the area regarding a crash that involved a silver 2003 Acura TL and a black 2005 Kawasaki motorcycle. Police received information that the motorcycle was turning north onto Bailey Hill Road from Pachysandra Place and began to accelerate when it collided with the front passenger side of the Acura that turned east in front of the motorcycle into the Woodland Creek Apartments. Police contacted the driver of the Acura, Edgar Jacob Salgadorivera, age 18, of Eugene, and after further investigation, arrested him for DUII and Reckless Driving. He was transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges and also cited for Minor in Possession of Alcohol While Operating a Vehicle.

Interfering With Police Officer/Criminal Trespass 1 – Case 1712912

Police responded to a vacant home regarding a male subject who was observed inside the location. When police arrived, the officer observed the subject, Travis Anthony Germyn, age 40, of Eugene, who was inside the home, close the window, and he was given direction to exit the location. The subject continued to disregard direction from the officer before eventually exiting the location. During the investigation, police located an additional subject inside the home, Stephanie Ann Jensen, age 28, of Springfield. Both subjects were contacted by police and arrested for Criminal Trespass in the First Degree. Germyn received an additional charge of Interfering With Police. They were both transported to the Lane County Jail on the charges.

Police responded to a hotel on Franklin Boulevard regarding an online ad for prostitution, and exchanged information with the involved female subject. When police arrived, they contacted the involved subjects and found information that the male subject, Jamari Dewayne Chapala, age 20, of Portland, had assisted in arranging the meeting. After further investigation, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Prostitution-Promoting and a warrant.

Prostitution-Promoting – Case 1712901

Police responded to a hotel on Franklin Boulevard regarding an online ad for prostitution, and exchanged information with the involved female subject. When police arrived, they contacted the involved subjects and found information that the male subject, Colby Russell Jongeward, age 23, of Eugene, had assisted in arranging the meeting. After further investigation, he was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Prostitution-Promoting and a warrant.

Online Sexual Corruption Of A Child 1 – Case 1701287

On August 2, a detective was working a sting regarding child prostitution. A man, later identified as Michael Joseph Watson, age 30, of Eugene, responded to an ad the detective posted and texted him. The detective was posing as a 15-year-old girl, and Watson set up a date to meet at a hotel on Franklin Boulevard. Watson showed up at the designated location and was contacted by detectives and placed under arrest at 5:06 p.m. for Online Sexual Corruption of a Child in the First Degree, and transported to the Lane County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1712850

An officer was on foot patrol in downtown Eugene and heard a loud dispute. He turned to find the source of the commotion and spotted Eric Griffin Hall, age 26, of Eugene, and a 17-year-old Eugene male, fighting at the corner of W. 10th and Olive. The pair ended up on the ground and the officer approached them. Hall had a cut over his eye. The pair separated as the officer approached and the officer grabbed each by one arm. The 17-year-old was compliant, however Hall resisted the officer’s hold and tried to pull away. The officer guided Hall down onto his chest, and Hall stopped resisting. After an investigation, the teen was released to his father with a Disorderly Conduct Charge. Hall was charged with Disorderly Conduct and taken to a hospital for treatment of his laceration. While there, he was hostile with staff and yelled profanities. During the transport to Jail he sang an anti-police song. Hall made some threats at the Jail to find and assault the officer who arrested him.

Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon (stun gun), Criminal Trespass 2 – Case 1712825

Officers working park patrol at Washington Jefferson Park spotted a hammock tied between two trees, with a pair sleeping in it. They contacted the pair and one of them, Eric Leroy Patterson, age 36, exited, however the other, Janelle Kay Barnes, age 34, was motionless even after they grabbed her arms. They set her on the ground and then she started to acknowledge the officers. Patterson has a current park exclusion and he was taken into custody for Trespass 2. While processing him, officers found a stun gun and Patterson is a convicted felon. He was charged with Felon in Possession of Restricted Weapon, and given a 90-day Park Exclusion. Barnes was charged with Criminal Trespass 2 and Violation of Park Rules.

Warrant – Case 172824

Officers were called to the 7-Eleven regarding a disorderly man. When officers got there, they were told that the man had been trying to fight with employees and left prior to police arrival. An officer found the suspect, identified as Jason Grau, age 34, of Eugene, on W. 6th. Grau appeared intoxicated and had a warrant out of Springfield for Failure to Appear DUII. He was taken into custody on the warrant.

Criminal Mischief 2 – Case 1706447

Police received information of a criminal mischief incident on April 24, regarding a red 2010 Ford Explorer with broken windows. On August 1, police contacted the suspect, Jessica Anne Hughes, age 34, who is known to the victim, and received information that she was observed walking away from the vehicle after the incident occurred. Following contact with Hughes, she was cited in lieu of custody for Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.

Disorderly Conduct – Case 1712799

Police responded to Monroe Street Park for a subject who was trying to fight another subject, and found that the described subject, Isaiah Paul Gonzales, age 33, of Eugene, had been told earlier to leave the park after he was observed in a physical altercation. Police contacted Gonzales and arrested him for Disorderly Conduct. He was transported to the Lane County Jail.

Disorderly Conduct/Warrant – Case 1712760

Police responded to a possible disorderly subject who poured a liquid substance on a passerby, and located the described subject, Charles Joseph McDonnell, age 40, of Eugene, who was emptying the contents from a garbage can onto the sidewalk. Police contacted McDonnell and found that he had four warrants for arrest. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail on the warrants and for Disorderly Conduct.
