August 24 at 11:15 a.m., police responded to the area regarding a stolen vehicle in the 1800 block of Franklin Boulevard. Police received information that the female suspect entered the vehicle of the victim after the engine was momentarily left running. The suspect struck the victim with the vehicle as he attempted to stop her causing minor injuries. With the help of a witness, police located the involved Nissan Sentra in the 500 block area of Highway 99 driven by Ashley Fleming, age 25. Fleming initially pulled into a parking lot but then attempted to flee in the vehicle. Officers used a patrol car to forcibly stop the vehicle prior to it reentering the busy roadway. Fleming was contacted by police and arrested for Robbery in the First Degree, Elude by Vehicle and unrelated warrants. She was transported to the Lane County Jail. Police are continuing to investigate the incident and additional charges are pending.
