[ARCHIVED] City Council Approves New Dusk to Dawn Site for Winter Emergency Homeless Shelter

The City Council at their January 10 Work Session approved a new Dusk to Dawn site at 4060 West Amazon Drive. The new site, recently purchased by St. Vincent de Paul, will provide space for nine families experiencing homelessness to sleep overnight through March 31 as part of the Dusk to Dawn program. St. Vincent de Paul’s First Place Family Center will oversee this program and site for families. The community is grateful to the Eugene Mission for providing temporary space for families at their campus over the last two winter seasons.

The Dusk to Dawn program was first approved by Eugene City Council in 2015. The program is operated by St. Vincent de Paul to provide unhoused individuals with a place to safely sleep and keep their belonging at night. There are three Dusk to Dawn sites, serving over 100 people nightly.
