[ARCHIVED] Second Street Robbery on Hilyard

At 12:30 a.m., March 8, a 21-year-old woman was walking on Hilyard near E. 15th Avenue when a man approached her, threatened her with a handgun and robbed her of cash. The suspect fled northbound on foot. It took the victim about 20 minutes to walk home and tell her roommate, who called 911 and reported the crime. Officers quickly responded to the call but were unable to find the suspect.

 

The suspect is described as a white male of unknown age, approximately 5’-10” to 6’ tall, about 180 pounds, with a medium build, and wearing a dark-colored hooded sweatshirt.

 

There was another robbery at 2:39 a.m. on March 3, in the same area. This was reported by police in a previous release. Details of that robbery: At 2:39 a.m. on March 3, a 21-year-old woman was walking on Hilyard near E. 16th Avenue when a man approached her from behind. She reported later that he grabbed her and threatened her with a handgun, while robbing her. The suspect then fled westbound on 16th Avenue on foot. Police responded to the call and also deployed a K9 unit. The search was unsuccessful. Police are seeking any tips in this case. 

 

The suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, and approximately 6’ tall. There was only limited description of the clothing as light colored jeans and a blue hoodie. The suspect may have a nose piercing. Case number 18-03590
