This year, the City of Eugene’s Waste Prevention and Green Building (WPGB) team created a biennial report detailing metrics of success from fiscal years 2016-17. Using charts and graphics, the report provides information in a visual manner, designed for ease of understanding.

A few highlights include:

  • WPGB funded 11 community organizations in exchange for mission-related programming, and directly implemented 10 programs that educate residents, businesses, and youth in the areas of waste prevention and green building.
  • Over 200 Eugene businesses participate in the Love Food Not Waste commercial food waste collection program, including all schools in Bethel School District and most 4J schools.
  • 1,435 Eugene households participate in the residential food waste collection pilot.
  • 31 events received direct assistance to utilize refillable water bottle stations, avoiding plastic bottle usage.
