[ARCHIVED] Traffic Advisory: Expect Road Closures and Delays During Eugene Marathon

Full Marathon MapDrivers are urged to use caution and plan ahead on Sunday, April 29, as people take part in the Eugene Marathon. Course organizers have coordinated with Eugene Public Works to help make sure the roads are closed to traffic and safe during the event.

Starting at 6 a.m. on Sunday, drivers can expect road closures from Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard through East and West Amazon Drive. The course winds into Springfield before ending up at Hayward Field.

While some of the road closures will last until late morning on Sunday, others will extend through mid-afternoon.

All of the participants will start at same location.  As runners clear the half marathon course, crews will begin to open those streets. However, the roads that will be utilized for the full marathon will be closed until mid-afternoon. Franklin Boulevard and Agate Street will be the last two roads that are scheduled to be opened. Roads will be cleared as runners complete the course.
