June 27, 2018 Update: 

Lemieux was arrested on June 26, 2018, and charged with Hit and Run Injury. According to investigators, the media stories resulted in an anonymous tip that assisted in identifying Lemieux as the suspect. We are grateful for the media’s and the tipster's help.


June 18, 2018 UPDATE:

A person of interest in this case has been identified as Taj Lemieux, age 41, of New Pine Creek, Oregon. See attached photos. If anyone has relevant information as to this person’s whereabouts, they are asked to call Eugene Police at 541.359.7611 and reference case 1809616.


The motorcyclist is still recovering, but has been released from the hospital.

June 12, 2018 UPDATE:

Police are continuing to look for the driver and the 2002 Chevrolet Suburban involved in the hit and run crash on June 11 around 4 p.m., in the area of Bailey Hill and Gimple Road. Vehicle is described to have custom chrome wheels and Oregon license plate 539 JCT.


Police received information that the motorcycle was traveling southbound on Bailey Hill Road when the Suburban pulled out from the Bailey Hill Market and collided with the motorcycle.

Eugene Police are currently on scene of a motor vehicle accident at Bailey Hill and Gimple Hill Rd.  Due to the investigation, motorists can expect lengthy delays and are encouraged to avoid the area until further notice.
