Eugene Public Library and Bijou Art Cinemas will co-host a free book group and movie, “No Country for Old Men," on Sunday, September 16 at the Bijou.
Starting August 1, visit the Downtown Library’s 3rd floor desk to sign up for limited spaces, and pick up your free book and ticket.
Then on Sunday, September 16, come to the Bijou, 492 East 13th, for a lively book group with the Library’s Shawn Grant and Wendy Beck at 11:00, followed by a free showing of the film at 12:00.
“No Country for Old Men,” the gripping novel by Cormac McCarthy, tells the tale of a hunter who stumbles on a drug deal gone wrong -- and more than two million dollars in cash. Violence and mayhem ensue, depicted to perfection by filmmakers Ethan and Joel Coen. The movie stars Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Woody Harrelson, and Kelly Macdonald. The film won the 2008 Academy Award for Best Picture along with three additional Oscars and many other awards.
