Eugene Police arrested Crummett without incident, with the assistance of the University of Oregon Police Department on the UO Campus, where he is employed. Although he is an employee of the University of Oregon, the crimes alleged did not involve the university in any way.
A Eugene Police Violent Crimes Unit investigation found that at least three girls, between the ages of six and 12, were sexually abused by Crummett over a period of months. The victims are not family members, but were acquainted with Crummett. Crummett’s residence is located within the Churchill Village Apartments in the 3600 block of W. 18th.
Investigators are concerned about the possibility there could be more victims. If anyone has relevant information in this case, they are asked to contact Eugene Police Violent Crimes Detective Ralph Burks at 541.682.5166.
Crummett will be arraigned today at 1:30 p.m. at the Lane County Jail. Eugene Police will not be releasing any further information about the case at this time as there is a continuing investigation and because Crummett has been indicted by a Grand Jury. The Lane County District Attorney is responsible for any further information on the case. ###
