[ARCHIVED] Coburg Road/Oakway Area – Traffic Safety Operation

Due to the high volume of traffic in the Coburg Road/Oakway area this holiday season, the traffic enforcement unit will be in the area on December 13 to focus on distracted driving during a high visibility enforcement, in addition to the standard traffic violations that contribute to a high frequency of crashes.

We would like to remind the public that winter weather elements have been present on the roadways, which include wet pavement, gravel and leaves. These conditions can contribute to limited traction and braking ability for vehicles. During this time of year, the evening commute is now after sunset for most drivers, and further reduces the ability to see other vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians.

The operation will take place at various times on Thursday, December 13.
