CrashintoApt

At 7:49 p.m. on June 11, Eugene Police units were dispatched to a crash at Bailey Hill Road and 18th Avenue after a vehicle lost control and skidded over a curb, through a yard, and into the bedroom of an apartment where a baby was sleeping in the crib. The crib was pushed to the side, but luckily the baby was not hurt. There were several other occupants in the apartment, and no one was injured.  The Eugene Police Street Crimes Unit responded to assist.

The vehicle’s driver, later identified as Tyler Cole Eiman, age 27, of Colorado, fled the scene but was captured a short time later, taken into custody, and then to local hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries. There were two other occupants in the vehicle, and one had minor injuries.

The involved vehicle had been going westbound on 18th and lost control at or near the intersection of Bailey Hill.

Eiman has been charged with DUII, Hit and Run Felony, six counts of Reckless Endangering, Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree, and Reckless Driving.

Members of EPD  Major Collision Investigation team were called out to assist with the case.
