Drop by any library location to pick up a free surprise activity kit to keep. There's a new one starting each Monday, while supplies last.
In-Person Storytimes
Drop in at the Downtown Library: Tuesdays, 6:30 p.m.; and Thursdays and Saturdays, 10:30 and 11:30 a.m.

Writer Nancy Lane

After years of industry related writing, Nancy Lane decided to pursue creative writing and zeroed in on the short story form as the most immediate and exciting way to build worlds, create engaging characters, and promote positive themes. She will read from her recent collection "Pretty Chrysanthemum and Other Stories."

Exhibit: Paintings by Jonathan Short
Downtown Library 2nd floor, November and December
Jonathan Short's colorful paintings are inspired by nature. Short is originally from the East Coast, where he studied art since childhood. Influenced by many trips on the train to the Metropolitan Museum Of Art in New York City, he then studied at The Art Students League N.YC. and Pratt Institute in Brooklyn. He says, "The air of Oregon has inspired me to pursue painting. It's like a religious experience."
