K9 Jax

On November 9 at 11:51 p.m. Eugene Police received a call regarding a possible break in at G&D Chillers, 760 Bailey Hill Road. An employee had spotted an individual, later identified as William Kyle Hess, age 37, walking around inside the security-fenced property. Multiple officers responded, including Officer Travis Palki and K9 Jax.

Hess was observed throwing items over the fence line from inside the business. There was a hole in the chain-link fence and as Hess was crawling under it, he was challenged by K9 Jax and immediately surrendered. Officers recovered stolen property. Hess was taken to Lane County Jail and lodged for Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Theft in the First Degree, Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, and a warrant out of the Oregon State Parole Board.
