[ARCHIVED] 2013 Martin Luther King Day Events

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is less than a week from today. A tremendous amount of work has been invested by many community members to plan and coordinate activities honoring the late Dr. King’s contributions and spirit. We want to make sure you are informed of all the ways to take an active part in these events. Attached are two posters and some links that will direct you to events beginning Monday January 21 and continuing throughout the rest of the week.

The holiday is best considered a day ON (not a day off), as it provides service learning opportunities and a chance to come together and remember Dr. King’s legacy. For those with a particular interest in using the holiday as a chance to serve one option is to register here with the UO’s Duck Corps program, which encourages community participants.
