[ARCHIVED] Fatal Crash Investigation - Hwy. 99N/Fairfield

UPDATE ON JANUARY 2, 2021:

The deceased passenger is a male, age 41. The driver is a male, age 49.

 

The vehicle was travelling northbound at a high rate of speed, and the case is still under investigation. The driver is still hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries. At this time, investigators are withholding identities.  


PREVIOUSLY RELEASED INFORMATION ON JANUARY 1, 2021:

At 7:19 a.m., Eugene Police responded to a report of a single vehicle that had crashed into a crosswalk pole at Hwy. 99N and Fairfield Avenue. There were two occupants of the vehicle and one is deceased. The other occupant has been taken to a local hospital. EPD’s Major Collision Investigation team responded and is investigating the crash.
