UPDATE/ February 9, 2021

“The assault of a young woman, working as a Barista, by a stranger, near campus, is both alarming and shocking,” said Investigations Captain Shawn Adams. “The detectives assigned to this case understood the community impact and, within 16 hours of the reported incident, had an individual in custody for the crime. This was a true “whodunnit” as all the detectives had to work with, initially, was a physical description. To identify a suspect, locate the suspect and make the arrest within sixteen hours is a remarkable accomplishment by the Violent Crimes Unit detectives.”
