[ARCHIVED] Suspect located and arrested following road rage incident

Fani

On March 1, at approximately 7:21 p.m., police responded to the 3100 block of MLK Jr Blvd, following a road rage incident between the drivers of two vehicles, with one of the involved sustaining an injury.

Police contacted people in the area who observed the incident and received information that the 28-year-old male victim, was driving southbound on Delta Highway near the Valley River Center with a white Ford pickup truck following closely behind. The truck was observed traveling in an erratic manner, and continued around to the front of the victim vehicle, before coming to an abrupt stop in the lane of travel near Kinsrow Avenue. The driver of the truck, Roy Allan Fani, age 30, subsequently exited the vehicle, approached the victim who was still seated in the driver’s seat of the vehicle, and struck him several times with his fist and stabbed him with a bladed object. The victim sustained a laceration to his hand and was transported to the hospital by medics.

Following a description of the vehicle and suspect, police were able to identify Fani, and contacted him on the morning of March 3, at the office of his attorney. He was arrested for Assault in the First Degree and Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and transported to the Lane County Jail.
