[ARCHIVED] Man Arrested After Assault on Hawkins Lane

Around 6:48 p.m. on April 2, Eugene Police was called to assist CAHOOTS in emergency mode at a home in the 1900 block of Hawkins Lane. A man, Daolo Paul Zaludmackie, age 42,  had been reported earlier running around the yard partially clothed and then later inside the residence damaging items in the house with a tool. His mother, age 74, called CAHOOTS after she was unable to calm him as usual and he didn’t recognize her.

CAHOOTS responded and spoke with Daolo through the front door. Daolo became upset and grabbed the victim by the throat with one hand and by the face/forehead area with his other hand. Daolo pushed her face into the wall. CAHOOTS called for assistance.

The victim was outside the home when police arrived, and Daolo inside the home. After over an hour of waiting outside the residence two officers attempted to call the landline phone of the residence. An officer was provided verbal consent by the victim for officers to enter the residence. Officers entered and found Daolo who was uncooperative and arrested him without incident.

Daolo was lodged at the Lane County Jail on Strangulation APA Felony, Assault in the Fourth Degree APA, and Menacing APA.
