[ARCHIVED] Fatal Crash at E. 23rd and Patterson

UPDATE April 21, 2021

EPD  is releasing the names of the involved: 

 

Driver: Connor Logan Patrick Cheney Truax, age 17, of Eugene

Passengers:

Logan Michael Siddons, age 15, of Eugene 

Aiden Conor Turpin, of Eugene, age 17

Logan Keonarayne Whitney, age 17, of Eugene

Thomas Alan Ehlers, age 18, of Eugene 


PREVIOUSLY RELEASED:

On April 19 at 6:18 p.m., Eugene Police officers responded to a reported single-vehicle crash into a tree near East 23rd Avenue and Patterson Street. Shortly after officers arrived, the 17-year-old male driver was declared deceased. There were four additional passengers aged 15 to 18 transported by medics with various levels of injury to include trauma activations. Speed and impairment by inhalants are being investigated as contributing factors in the crash. 

 

The EPD Major Collision Investigation team responded and their investigation is ongoing. 

 

Patterson Street was closed from 22nd Avenue to 24th Avenue until shortly before 10 p.m. on April 19.
