Citations for Loud Noise at Large Party
At about 10:30 p.m. on May 8, officers were dispatched to a large, loud party near E. 15th and Mill, after public complaints. Approximately 500 people were congregating outside and in the street.
An officer contacted one of the residents of 493 E. 15th Avenue, Lucas Michael Ferrendelli, age 20, and explained he was there for a loud noise complaint. Ferrendelli advised he would attempt to shut down the party. After approximately 10 minutes the party was still ongoing, and more people were arriving. The officer called for additional units and made announcements over his PA speaker that people at the party needed to disperse.
As the party emptied, an estimated 500-600 people left the backyard and went onto the nearby streets and sidewalks. The crowd was generally hostile towards law enforcement and were continually shouting profanity at officers. It required eight officers to respond to the area and disperse the crowd from the area.
The officer re-contacted Ferrendelli and Ferrendelli ran away from the officer and back into the crowd. A few minutes later he re-appeared with another resident, Robert Preston Morehouse age 21. Morehouse was generally cooperative and apologetic during the investigation. Ferrendelli was continually hostile and aggressive towards officers, shouting profanities and threatening to fight officers. Two officers handcuffed Ferrendelli during the contact. Both Ferrendelli and Morehouse were issued citations in lieu of custody for Prohibited Noise and Ferrendelli was released.
