[ARCHIVED] Veterans Memorial Wall Defaced

Crime Scene Tape for Ongoing Investigation image

On Sunday, May 30, at 9:20 a.m. Eugene Police received reports that someone had defaced the Veterans of Foreign Wars Memorial wall, which is along the park’s bike path, and which includes the names of people who have died serving the country. Included in the criminal mischief was an anarchy symbol. When police arrived, an unknown person was cleaning most of the paint off of it. 

 

Eugene Police has alerted staff to pay extra attention with patrol checks near the memorial this weekend. If anyone has tips in the case they are asked to call 541.682.5111 and reference case number 21-08111.
