Handcuffs

On July 22 at 5:16 p.m., Eugene Police responded to a crash on eastbound I-105 and Coburg Road, and found that the driver and passenger of a Toyota Tacoma had fled the scene. This was a non-injury crash, which involved four vehicles including the pickup. The pickup had been reported as stolen on July 1 from First Student Inc at 90518 Hwy 99N.  (case 21-09920)

Vehicles involved in the crash included a Toyota Rav4, Toyota Tacoma, a Buick, and a Cadillac Deville.

The investigation found that the driver of the Cadillac was traveling eastbound on I-105 towards Springfield, and was behind the Buick and did not observe the traffic had stopped. He hit the rear-end of the Buick, which hit the Tacoma. The Tacoma rear-ended the Rav4. The driver of the Tacoma, later identified as Trenton Laine Roseneau, age 21, of Venta, left the scene on foot, along with his female passenger, later identified as Lindsay Elizabeth Denton, age 27, of Eugene.

Eugene Police Sgt. Rob Griesel and K9 Kuiil (pronounced Quill) located Roseneau behind the Masonic Lodge on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard. Officers found Roseneau had a warrant for his arrest. He was taken into custody on the warrant, charged with Unauthorized Use Vehicle,  and cited in lieu of custody for Hit and Run, and he received citations for Driving While Suspended and Driving Uninsured. Denton was found shortly thereafter and taken into custody on a warrant and charged with Unauthorized Use Vehicle.

The Cadillac’s driver, Erick Israel Mejiachey, age 40, of Springfield, did not have a driver`s license or insurance on his vehicle and was cited for driving without a valid driver license and driving uninsured.
