[ARCHIVED] Woman Charged in DUII Injury Crash

Lightbar

On July 25 at 8:45 p.m., there was a head-on crash between a Toyota Corolla and a GMC Yukon Denali at Valley River Drive and Willagillespie Road. Eugene Police Patrol and Major Collision Investigations teams both responded. Both vehicles were blocking traffic.

The driver of the Toyota, Olivia Kathleen Fletcher, age 27, of Medford, appeared impaired and was injured. She was transported to a local hospital. An officer contacted the three occupants of the GMC, the 36-year-old female driver, and two teens. The adult driver was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The teens were transported by a personal vehicle of a family friend to a local hospital for evaluation of non-life threatening injuries.

An investigation found that the driver of the GMC was going down the hill on the east side of the overpass to continue in that lane and turn left onto Willagillespie Road. The driver of the Toyota, Fletcher, was traveling around the exit ramp from Delta Highway northbound to Valley River Center. Fletcher failed to negotiate the exit from Delta North to Valley River Drive and went through the landscaped median, impacted a concrete curb, and continued through the first lane and ended up colliding with the GMC. The vehicle left the lanes of travel and collided with the GMC in the eastbound lane of Valley River Drive. Airbags deployed on both vehicles.

Fletcher was cooperative and after an investigation was cited in lieu of custody for DUII and Reckless Driving.  Case 21-11339
