[ARCHIVED] Drug Drop Off Box Alternatives (box no longer at local police)

Eugene Police Headquarters Sign

Please note: While police departments throughout Lane County have been the traditional safe disposal sites for unwanted prescription drugs, they are no longer doing so and there are other alternatives more specific to the pharmaceutical industry:

As of July 1, 2021 you can take medicines from your household to drop-off sites at CVS, Hiron’s and Rite-Aid pharmacies.

Alternatively, you can pick up a postage paid, pre-addressed envelope from select city halls, libraries, fire stations and Bi-Mart pharmacies. Call to 1 (844) 482-5322 or 1 (844) 4-TAKE-BACK to locate a safe medication drop-off site near you or visit www.medtakebackoregon.org to learn were you can pick up a mail-back envelope.
