[ARCHIVED] Woman Arrested for DUII After Running Red Lights

Lightbar

On August 30 at 1:30 a.m. an officer performed a traffic stop at W. 11th and Beltline when a Ford Mustang ran a red light. The driver, later identified as Ashley Tanice Lawson, age 36, of Florence, initially stopped, then told the officer he was not a real cop and took off east on W. 11th Avenue.

There was no pursuit, but other officers in the area observed Lawson running red lights and driving recklessly. One officer ran the license plate and found Lawson had prior DUII arrests and a IID requirement, and multiple units were able to block the vehicle at W. 11th and City View

Lawson was commanded to open the locked driver’s side door, but refused and reached her hands down to the left side of her body. Officers had to break the driver’s side window to take Lawson out and into custody. She was suspected of being impaired and after an investigation was taken to Lane County Jail on charges of DUII, Interfering with Peace Officer, Reckless Driving, and Elude Vehicle.
