[ARCHIVED] Suspect Arrested on Multiple Counts of Menacing Following Incident at Automotive Service Center

On September 28, around 11:43 a.m., police responded to Valvoline at 2175 Cubit Street regarding a menacing with a knife. Police received information that the suspect, Thomas Tyler Rinck, age 34, became confrontational with a male employee and approached the employee in the vehicle service area while displaying a knife. Another employee at the location observed Rinck lunge toward the employee and yelled at him to stop. Rinck subsequently threatened the second male employee before leaving, and was located by police in a red Honda at the nearby McDonald’s restaurant parking lot.  

 

Police contacted Rinck in his vehicle and found him in possession of the described knife used during the incident. He was arrested and transported to the Lane County Jail for Unlawful Use of a Weapon, two counts of Menacing, and Disorderly Conduct in the Second Degree.
