On October 4 at 6:02 p.m. Eugene Police officers were dispatched to a burglary at Edge Construction Supply, 490 S. Bertelsen Road. Two men, later identified as Luke Daniel Holland, age 35, and Anthony Ray Puckett, age 38, were reported to have cut a fence, entered the property, gotten into a parked limousine inside the gated area, and damaged the inside while ripping out a CD deck on October 2. The business had repaired this damage, installing new equipment.
The suspects were reported to have returned in the early morning hours of October 4, entered through the same fence and limousine, stealing a second CD deck, speakers, amplifiers, and other sound equipment, as well as cutting a lock on a propane tank cage and taking nine full propane tanks.
A company employee, who happened to be driving and doing errands later that day, spotted the suspect’s truck and called 911. Officers responded to Holland’s and Puckett’s residences, where each was arrested.
Holland was lodged at the Lane County Jail for Theft in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, and Unauthorized Entry Motor Vehicle. A significant amount of the stolen stereo equipment was recovered and returned to the company.
Puckett was lodged at Lane County Jail for Theft in the First Degree, Criminal Mischief in the First Degree, Criminal Trespass in the Second Degree, and Unauthorized Entry Motor Vehicle. He was also lodged for a warrant.
