On October 20 at approximately 11:14 p.m., the Eugene Police Department received a call of a robbery that had just occurred. The caller, a young UO student, reported she was walking in the 1800 Block of Kincaid Street when she was approached by a white male in his 20s and robbed at gun point.

The suspect was described as a white male  of average height and build.  This incident is under investigation by the Eugene Police Department Property Crimes Unit

Eugene Police investigators and UO partners work together to follow up on these types of crimes.

Eugene Police Department asks residents and visitors to always immediately report robberies and not allow any time delays, as this will increase the chances of  apprehending suspects. A suspect(s) can travel a great distance in a very short amount of time.

Prevention Tips– Criminals are responsible for crimes and not victims. Because criminals are opportunistic, there are ways to reduce your chances of becoming a victim.

  • Be aware of your surroundings: keep your eyes up and watch who is around you or getting close.
  • Don’t wear headphones or earpieces
  • Walk with a buddy
  • Use a taxi, rideshare, or have a friend pick you up
  • UO students have safe transportation resources through the university: Duck Rides offers night-time transportation 7 days a week from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. (541-346-7433) and UOPD offers on-campus escorts (541-346-2919).
