[ARCHIVED] Eugene Public Library expands hours

All three locations return to pre-pandemic hours

Eugene Public Library has expanded its open hours in a return to the pre-pandemic schedule as of Nov. 1.

In addition to the expansion of open hours, the most notable changes are the Downtown Library will again be open Sundays, and the Bethel and Sheldon branches will again offer evening hours.

"This is a happy day for us and for Eugene," Library Director Will O'Hearn said. "Every day during the pandemic, we've offered the maximum service we could at the time within safety restrictions. And we've heard from many people that the library has been their 'lifeline' this past year and a half. So it feels wonderful to able to increase access with expanded hours, especially providing in-person services seven days a week."

The Downtown Library is open 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday; and 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The outside book returns at the Downtown Library are open 5 a.m. – 10 p.m. every day.

The Bethel and Sheldon branches are open 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, Thursday through Saturday and noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday. The outside book returns at Bethel and Sheldon are open 24 hours every day.

For more information, drop by any Eugene Public Library location, call 541-682-5450 or visit eugene-or.gov/library.
