[ARCHIVED] EPD Presented With Pearl Buck Center Community Partnership Award

Partner of the Year - CvicPls

This morning, Pearl Buck Center Executive Director Margaret Theisen presented the Eugene Police Department with the Community Partner Of The year award and expressed appreciation for the department's support, "the contributions you have made to our safety, our sense of well-being in our community."


Community Engagement Specialist Margaret Mazzotta and Chief Chris Skinner accepted the award on behalf of the department. CES Mazzotta and the Community Engagement Team have had a large involvement in building a partnership with the Pearl Buck Center organization.

Pearl Buck Center annually supports the efforts of about 700 children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in the Eugene-Springfield area. Our programs include Pearl Buck Preschool, Community Employment, Supported Living, Life Enhancing Activities Program (LEAP), Project SEARCH, and Vocational Academy. Through these programs, we strive to provide the support these individuals need to be empowered, independent members of our society.
