Eugene residents with remaining leaves can place them curbside (but not in the bike lane) through Friday, January 21. Crews will work over the coming weeks to reach all neighborhoods a second time.
“We were fortunate to have the snow storm in late December, when we had already wrapped up the first round of leaf collection,” said Nick O’Quinn, Public Works Surface Maintenance Supervisor. “We were able to convert our large trucks from leaf collection to snow fighting equipment without having any delays and are now ready to convert them back for the second part of leaf season.”
Stormwater user fees help fund leaf collection and delivery. This important service helps return clean water to the river. Decaying leaves rob oxygen needed by fish in our rivers.
