[ARCHIVED] Traffic stop, search warrant lead to drugs and firearms

On January 31 at 12:42 a.m., a Eugene Police officer conducted a traffic stop and contacted the occupants, Kory Paul Miller, age 41, of Eugene, and Carmen Marie Lewis, age 34, of Eugene. Both had warrants and were transported to Lane County Jail and lodged on the warrants. The officer established Probable Cause and recovered a firearm from the vehicle with the help of EPD’s drug detection K9 Officer Joe Kidd and Jack. The vehicle stop: yielded more than 204 grams of methamphetamine, 20 grams of heroin, and a handgun. 

 

After this, the officer applied for and was granted a search warrant for Miller’s residence and located a second firearm (semi-automatic rifle), more than eight grams of methamphetamine, and credit cards from a theft-from-vehicle victim and stolen laptops from unrelated burglaries, scales, packaging materials and more than $1,000 in cash. 

 

Miller was charged with two counts of Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Possession of Methamphetamine Commercial Offense, and Possession of Heroin Commercial Offense.
