[ARCHIVED] Public Comment Open on Proposed Affordable Housing Projects

Peace Village Artist Rendering

The City of Eugene invites public comment on two proposals that have applied for Affordable Housing Trust Funds (AHTF). The AHTF supports the creation of local, innovative housing projects that are affordable to people with lower and moderate incomes. Public comments will be shared with the Affordable Housing Trust Fund Evaluation and Advisory Committee who will score and rank proposals. The scores and ranking(s) will be presented to the Eugene City Council, who will make final decisions for AHTF funding.

Public comment can be submitted through April 20, 2022 via email to staff, or it can be provided during the public comment period at the upcoming AHTF Evaluation Sub-Committee meeting on April 14 at noon.

The proposals are posted on the AHTF website for review and include:

  • Peace Village by SquareOne Villages
  • Green Lane Veteran’s Housing by St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County, Inc.

The full committee is scheduled to discuss the applications and make a funding recommendation at the April 21 committee meeting. Meeting materials and information on how to join and listen to all meetings online is available on the AHTF Committee website

The AHTF is a local source of funding generated by a 0.5% construction excise tax on new construction in Eugene. Each year, the City releases a Request for Proposals (RFP) for the funds based on criteria developed by the AHTF Advisory Committee. The Request for Proposals is an open, competitive process. This year, just over $1.1 million in AHTF is available for innovative local housing projects through the AHTF RFP.
