This position assists in the coordination and provides administrative support to the two-person public information and public relations program in the Eugene Police Department and provides technical and administrative support to the Public Information Director to meet the organization’s needs.
• Video production and operating computer software programs for desktop publishing and design, website content and design, and administrative documents.
• Assisting the director with day-to-day media relations activities such as preparing news releases, handling routine media calls and facilitating interviews between the media and department members for routine incidents, proactive crime prevention, and public service announcements.
Designing, maintaining and promoting the department’s website and social media.
Designing and conducting media audits, and other surveys and evaluations as requested.
Planning and implementing department events as requested.
Observing Oregon public records laws and Eugene Police media practices.
Salary is $55,764.80 - $69,513.60 Annually
