[ARCHIVED] Parks and Recreation Bond and Levy Council Update

Craig Carnagey and Carolyn Burke gave City Council an update on the 2018 Parks and Recreation Bond and Levy work at the April 27 work session. Councilors were extremely complimentary of all the work around the park system.

As we work through the fourth year of the five-year levy and the capital improvement bond, there are projects in all phases of completion throughout the community. Of the 37 bond-funded projects, 28 (75 percent) are complete or underway. As bond projects are completed, the ongoing maintenance needs of these new amenities are

funded by the levy.

We also utilize levy funding to upgrade, reopen, restore, build and light up our extraordinary system of open spaces, natural areas, playgrounds, sports fields and trails. These outdoor gems are more heavily used and appreciated now than at any other time in our history!
