Eugene Public Library's Bethel and Sheldon neighborhood branches are temporarily closed to install new carpet.
The branches are closed from Friday, July 15 through Sunday, July 24. The branches will reopen on Monday, July 25.
“These busy facilities are well-loved and well-used. We never like to close our doors, but we think everyone will appreciate the fresh carpet once it’s done,” said LaVena Nohrenberg, the library's User Experience Manager.
Returning items: The outside return slots at Bethel and Sheldon branches are also closed July 15 through 24. Library items can be kept until the branches reopen or returned to the Downtown Library; Eugene Public Library does not charge overdue fines.
Held items: Requested library items that would have expired during this time will be held at the branches to be picked up through July 30.
Storytimes: During the closure, the branches' weekly storytimes will be held outdoors. Families with young children are invited to join in the fun at storytimes in the park at Petersen Barn Community Center at 10:15 a.m. on Friday, July 15 and Friday, July 22.
