Organizations can apply for grants up to $4,000 through March 13
Local organizations are invited to apply for grants to fund their teen activities programs through Eugene Rec. Applications opened Jan. 3 and the deadline to submit is 3 p.m. March 13.
The funds are made possible by the Community Safety Initiative, which was passed by the City of Eugene City Council in June 2019. The initiative included funding for out-of-school youth programs, which helped launch Eugene Rec’s Youth and Teen Empowerment Program in January 2022.
The City’s empowerment program is building bridges with community organizations working with teens and recognizes many once-thriving programs have been postponed because of the pandemic. These small grants are intended to reactivate past teen programs as well as build partnerships to create new opportunities for teen empowerment.
The grants will provide funding of up to $3,000 and up to $1,000 of in-kind support. The recipients will be announced May 15.
Those interested in learning more about the grants, the application process or meeting with past recipients are invited to a community information session at 4 p.m. Feb. 13.
Detailed information and the application are also available at eugene-or.gov/4910/YTEP-Small-Grants.
