The Book Sale is the Friends of Eugene Public Library's major fundraiser each year. Over 400 volunteers work on the Book Sale, many year-round.  For more information, to volunteer, or to join the Friends, visit

Note to shoppers: If you come to the Book Sale after noon on Saturday, or anytime on Sunday, you can walk right in. Or if you want to be among the very first to enter, here are two ways to do that:

  • Join the Friends of the Library: members get free early admission on Saturday at 8 a.m.
  • Or come to the Book Sale entrance on Saturday starting at 7 a.m. to pick up a free general admission ticket (one per customer). Then return a little before 9 a.m. and join the line in ticket number order.

Do you have gently-used books and other items to donate? It's easy! Drop them off in the Downtown Library parking garage; at the Rite-Aid near Sheldon Branch; or at Petersen Barn Community Center near Bethel Branch. If you have a large collection, contact the Friends for possible pick-up. Learn more about donating books to the Friends.
