[ARCHIVED] City of Eugene Launches Communitywide Recycling Information Campaign

City of Eugene Logo with City Skyline

The City of Eugene launches a community-wide ‘Drop the Baggage’ recycling education campaign which will direct residents to the most current recycling information. This campaign is in response to changes in what we can recycle based on recycling market fluctuations that have limited or in some cases restarted opportunities to recycle different types of packaging. Eugene residents care about recycling—this campaign will support their efforts to recycle correctly.

This campaign will also connect people to resources that will inform the community as our statewide recycling systems evolve in response to Recycling Modernization Act implementation in 2025.

The City of Eugene’s Waste Prevention Program provides oversight for the recycling collection service provided by Eugene waste hauling companies and provides recycling information to residents.

The ‘Drop the Baggage’ messaging has also been released in Spanish.
