At 6:03 p.m. on April 27, a Eugene Police Traffic Safety Unit officer initiated a traffic stop of a motorcyclist. The motorcyclist fled southbound on Ferry Street Bridge. The officer did not pursue. The motorcyclist, Bradley Clay Wilson, age 21, of Eugene, subsequently was involved in a crash on Ferry Street Bridge (10002-block of Coburg Road) and was reported to be under a vehicle. Eugene Springfield Fire responded to the scene and transported the motorcyclist to a local hospital for treatment of life threatening injuries. Wilson subsequently died on April 27.
Both northbound and southbound lanes on Ferry Street Bridge were closed until shortly before 11 p.m. on April 27.
EPD’s Major Collision Investigation team is investigating the crash.
