[ARCHIVED] City of Eugene holiday schedules and closures for Thanksgiving

City of Eugene services and facilities have different schedules for holiday hours. Unless otherwise stated, the following offices and services will be closed in observance of Thanksgiving Holiday on Thursday, November 23 and Friday, November 24.

Administrative Offices

All City of Eugene administrative offices will be closed both days.

Library, Recreation and Cultural Services

  • Eugene Public Library – All locations and outside return slots will be closed on Thursday, November 23 and open on Friday, November 24.
  • Community Centers – All locations will be closed both days.
  • Amazon pool – The pool is closed for the season.
  • Echo Hollow pool – The pool will be closed both days.
  • Sheldon pool – The pool will be closed both days.

Police, Fire, Medical and Other Emergency Services

Police, fire, medical and other emergency services will be provided as usual. The main police station on Country Club Road is open 365 days a year. 

  • Downtown Public Safety Station will be open and the Downtown Patrol Team will be on duty in the area.  
  • Fire & EMS Administration offices, including Ambulance Billing, will be closed both days.


  • City-managed parking garages, surface lots and on-street meters will be free only on Thursday, November 23, except for the train depot surface lot which requires payment year-round.
  • On-street parking limits in the Arena District surrounding Matt Knight Arena are in effect at all times as per posted signs.

Public Works

No work will be done on City street repair projects. Around-the-clock health and safety services, such as regional wastewater treatment, will continue without interruption.


The Eugene Airport will be open for business as usual through the holiday. The airport administrative offices will be closed both days. For flight schedule information, go to or call 541-682-5544.

Spay and Neuter Clinic

The clinic will be closed both days.


All City offices and facilities will return to regular hours on Monday, November 27, unless otherwise noted.
