[ARCHIVED] Neighborhoods USA Board Visits Eugene

Members of the Neighborhoods, USA (NUSA – www.nusa.org) board will meet in Eugene this Thursday and Friday for their annual fall meeting. Eugene will host the NUSA national conference in May, 2014 (www.eugene-or.gov/NUSA2014) and the 25-member board visits NUSA conference host cities in the fall prior to the conference. NUSA board members come from across the U.S. including Alabama, Florida, California, Washington, Arkansas, Indiana, and Pennsylvania.

While in Eugene, the NUSA board will have an opportunity to enjoy local sights and restaurants and receive a guided tour of Eugene’s downtown. On Thursday, October 3, at 1:00 p.m. in the Eugene Hilton, NUSA board members will present the national NUSA flag to Eugene City Councilors. At 4:00 p.m. the board will receive a guided tour of the Hilton conference facilities and recent downtown revitalization projects. The local NUSA 2014 Planning Team will host board members, neighborhood leaders and elected officials at a 6:00 p.m. reception in the Vistas Room of the Hilton Hotel.

The annual NUSA Conference, May 21-24, 2014, will attract more than 600 people from across the U.S. and Canada as well as countries such as Japan, the Netherlands and South Africa. The conference features three keynote speakers, over 40 workshops and 10 neighborhood tours. The conference is open to all participants and local community members are encouraged to attend.
