[ARCHIVED] Eugene Police officer called for emergency cover outside Churchill High School at 2:45 p.m.

At 2:45 p.m. today, a Eugene Police officer called for emergency cover and a modified school lockdown for Churchill High School. Shortly afterwards, there was a call of shots fired. A 44-year-old white male is deceased outside to the south of Churchill High School.

There is no known ongoing threat to students or public at this time. Students are being allowed to leave via the north entrance. Kennedy is also no longer on lockdown .

Lane County's Interagency Deadly Force Investigation Team will respond to investigate. ###
