What if I intent to serve alcohol?

You can determine if a park allows alcohol by checking the amenities list for each park. Not all parks allow the consumption of alcohol. Exceptions will not be considered for Art in the Parks awardees.

The consumption and/or sale of alcohol at an event for which the City has issued a permit must comply with section R-1.007 of this Rule and all rules established by the Oregon Liquor Control Commission (OLCC). If an event involves the consumption or sale of alcoholic beverages then event organizers must maintain a commercial liquor liability insurance policy and submit a certificate of insurance with the permit application. Special Event Permit holders must maintain liquor liability coverage of at least $2,000,000, combined single limit per occurrence.

If an event involves the consumption or sale of alcoholic beverages, but no permit is required for the event, then event organizers must maintain commercial liquor liability insurance with liability coverage of at least $2,000,000, combined single limit per occurrence, and submit a certificate of insurance to the City prior to the event.

If an event involves the sale of alcoholic beverage then event organizers must obtain an OLCC license and provide the City of Eugene with a copy of the license at least 20 days prior to the date of the event.
