Description
Opening in 2017, Eugene’s newest segment of the Ridgeline Trail system will provide the opportunity to enjoy rare upland prairie and oak habitat with views of Spencer Butte and the West Eugene Wetlands. From the trailhead at the intersection of Bailey Hill and S. Bertelsen roads, the trail winds uphill to Bailey View Prairie. Gravel and unimproved roads connected to the trail add opportunities for loops and exploration of the 250-acre park. Visit in early spring to enjoy this park’s namesake, wild iris. Extensive grant-funded habitat stabilization and fuels reduction work has reduced wildfire risk and enhanced rare prairie and oak habitats at the park.
