Now is the time to submit nominations for the recipient of the 2023 HRC Community Leadership Award (previously International Human Rights Day Community Leadership Award). Each year, the Human Rights Commission recognizes an individual for their contribution in the area of human rights and social justice. Please remember, anyone who is a City of Eugene employee or is currently a member of the Human Rights Commission is ineligible for nomination. The deadline to provide a nomination is 5 p.m., December 31, 2023.
Please comment on the nominee’s qualifications, including how the nominee has demonstrated, through their actions or service, the values of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
Please cite specific examples of the nominees’ contributions to the community. Examples may include answering:
•How has the nominee demonstrated a commitment to social change, service, and community engagement with respect to human rights?
•What exemplary service has the nominee demonstrated that elevates others?
•What additional or specific examples would be helpful to mention?
