  1. Whiteaker Mural Ride

    November 5, 2022, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM
    @

Meet at Shift Community Cycles to join a group tour of the Whiteaker’s nine new street murals. Bring your own bike or use PeaceHealth Rides bike share. All are welcome. This will be a slow, family-friendly ride.

recent study has confirmed what many cities have been reporting for a while: when murals are painted on city streets, safety improves for everyone. Specifically, the study found a:

    • 50% decrease in car crashes involving pedestrians or cyclists

    • 27% increase in drivers yielding to pedestrians

    • 37% decrease in crashes resulting in injuries

If you can’t make the ride, use the route map to do a DIY tour. The map includes the artist statements for each mural. Ride sponsored by Shift Cycles, the Whiteaker Community Council, and the City of Eugene.
