FAN Equity Action and Sustainability Teams are happy to host our Spring Neighborhood Meeting on Tuesday, May 2 from 7:00–8:30 p.m. at Washington Park Community Center. The presenters will be Dan and Barbara Gleason of Wild Birds Unlimited, a retail business located in FAN. Dan taught ornithology at the University of Oregon for many years and is a well-known speaker on natural history topics. Dan and Barbara’s presentation will help you learn how to create and maintain a wildlife-friendly habitat. Research shows these habitats support twice as many birds, pollinators, and other neighborhood wildlife as conventional lawns and non-native plant gardens. Information will be provided on how to certify your yard through the National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat Program.
